What is a secure payment?

A secure payment means that the transactions carried out on the Internet network are protected against unauthorized interception and also against unauthorized modifications and alterations of the original content of the data.

The data provided when entering your banking information such as the card number, the expiry date are encrypted before being sent to the payment server. They cannot therefore be intercepted and read as they are.

Because your satisfaction is at the heart of our concerns, www.instinctvagabond.com offers 2 payment methods to pay for your purchases either by credit card or via Paypal.

Credit card payments are made on the Stripe or Paypal platform, the main players in secure payment in the world.

PAYMENT WITH STRIPE

Stripe respects the highest standards of online payment security!

Payments by credit card (Blue, Visa, Mastercard) are made in full at the end of the order. All credit card payments are 100% secured by the Stripe platform, in accordance with French and international interbank security systems. Stripe allows Internet users to shop online safely and with peace of mind.

Your bank details are encrypted (SSL technology). They do not circulate unencrypted on the Internet and cannot be intercepted. Your bank details (card number, expiry date, etc.) are never communicated to us.

Is a payment with Stripe safe?

When purchasing online using Stripe, the entire transaction takes place on our banking site in encrypted mode. You temporarily leave the merchant's site in complete transparency to save your bank details. This is the guarantee that: the merchant will never know your card number!

Stripe will not be able to know anything about the details of your purchases since only the total amount and the order number are transmitted to us by the merchant.

What security does Stripe use?

Stripe uses the standardized encryption system called “the SSL protocol”. It materializes, when you are on the payment page, by:

A closed padlock in the corner of your browser.

The https:// mode instead of http:// in the address bar of your browser.

When you switch from unencrypted mode to encrypted mode (and vice versa), browsers display a message warning you of the change. Check these elements before entering confidential data, it is a guarantee of security. In order to use the most powerful protocols, we recommend the use of a browser of the latest version.

Stripe uses the following methods to secure its payment pages:

All card numbers are encrypted on disk with AES-256.

Stripe's infrastructure for storing, decrypting, and transmitting card numbers runs independently, without sharing any sensitive information with Stripe's core services.

Security at Stripe also includes the following certifications and licenses:

PCI DSS Level 1 Certification US Money Transfer License

Complies with European directive DSP2 and strong customer authentication

SSAE18/ SOC 1 Type 1 and 2 reports E-money license in Europe

What information is needed to use Stripe?

Stripe will ask you for the following information:

the bank card or private card number (15 or 16 digit numbers)

expiration date

the visual cryptogram (3 or 4 last digits on the signature strip of your card)

With the deployment of 3D Secure (recognizable by the “Verifed By Visa” or “MasterCard SecureCode” logos), your bank will also ask you when paying to authenticate yourself with confidential information to be entered on a web page of your own bank.

How it works ?

You place your order on the site with payment by credit card.

This payment request is transferred to Stripe's secure payment server.

The server sends a secure form so that you can fill in the information necessary for the transaction (card number, expiry date, 3-digit code).

The Stripe server queries your bank to verify the validity of the data communicated (existence and validity of the card as well as the creditworthiness of the holder) to obtain a debit authorization.

The Bank transmits to Stripe the authorization or the refusal of the payment and informs you of it.

Regardless of the amount of the transaction, a debit authorization request is systematically sent to the cardholder's bank.

CASH PAYMENT BY PAYPAL

Payment by the Paypal system allows you to no longer communicate your bank details for each online purchase you make. You create a PayPal account to which you link your card number or your bank account number. If you choose to pay via PayPal:

You will be redirected to a secure PayPal payment page where you will only indicate your Paypal email and password, then you will confirm your payment.

The amount of the order will then be debited from your Paypal account if its balance is positive, or from the linked bank account if the balance is insufficient.

* You can also pay for your purchase without opening a Paypal account by clicking on the "Pay without opening an account" button.
